Reverse Engineering is the process of creating a descriptive data set from a physical object through scanning the object, capturing data, and using the data to re-create usable information for the object.
BQTD has the technology and expertise to provide state-of-the-art reverse engineering and scanning services.
The hardware we have is a Rennishaw Cyclone, Mitutoyo CMM, and a Romer Arm with a Perceptron Laser. The software we use with these machines is Scanworks, Geomagic, Solidworks and PowerINSPECT.
Typical Reverse Engineering Applications:
-Recreating data to refurbish or manufacture a part for which there is no CAD data. -Comparing a part to it's CAD data. -Creating 3D data from a part. -Recreating lost prints.
Benefits of Reverse Engineering:
Minimize engineering, design time, and costs. Reproduce parts in CAD with .0005 accuracy for geometry.
We can provide you with completely dimensioned 2D drawings and 3D models in your choice of file formats:
- 2D: .slddrw, AutoCad.dwg, dxf or .jpg, .pdf, .tif...
- 3D: .sldprt, .iges, parasolid, STEP, ACIS
